Before we start this course, we will first look at what will be covered during the training. The course is divided into categories and in each category, there are a number of videos. You can pause and watch again any video of the course. We update our courses regularly and you will be able to see the replacement and new videos as they are released.

You work through the course videos in order and we'll now give you a summary of what the course will cover:

Firstly, what bloodborne pathogens are, infection control legislation and the chain of infection.

It also covers different types of infections, for example; HIV and Hepatitis. It also covers different types of injections and skin diseases.

This course also includes how you reduce the risk of infection, basic food hygiene practices, contaminated objects and how to report and follow up an exposure incident. It does also mention infection control kits.

In the final categories, it mentions infection control risks for, commercial cleaners and hotel workers. It also includes infection risks in offices, shops and factories.
